HOISINGTON — Helen M. Woydziak, 94, died Dec. 10, 2013 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.
She was born Sept. 17, 1919 at Dubuque, Kan., the daughter of Venzel and Mary (Kvapil) Blazek.
She married Wilfred Woydziak Sept. 3, 1940 at Dubuque. He died Dec. 12, 1994. She was a homemaker and a nursing assistant at Central Kansas Medical Center, until retirement. Mrs. Woydziak was a lifetime Dubuque and Hoisington resident, living at Rose Hill the past four years.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and Legion of Mary. She was a Girl Scout Leader, avid quilter, and loved cooking for her family.
Survivors include a son, Michael Woydziak and his wife Cheryl, Austin, Texas; three daughters, Rosalie Schreiber and her husband Glenn, Overland Park; Rita Cardello and her husband Frank, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and Kathy James and her husband Mike, Rose Hill; a sister, Mary Hoffman, Claflin; a brother, Frank Blazek, Humansville, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Deanna Woydziak; four brothers and two sisters.
A Vigil Service is scheduled at 7 p.m. Friday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Hoisington with Celebrant Father Anselm Eke. Interment will be St. Catherine Cemetery, Dubuque.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, 415 N. Main, Hoisington.
Memorials are suggested to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or Kans for Kids, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home.
