Helen Marie Steincamp, 84, died Jan. 10, 2015, at Via Christi St. Francis Regional Medical Center, Wichita. Born Oct. 12, 1930, at Redwing, she was the daughter of Joseph R. and Anna Marie (Proksch) Dietz. She was a 1948 graduate of Hoisington High School.
She married Charles William Steincamp Feb. 7, 1959, at Ness City. He died Feb. 5, 1999. A Great Bend resident since 1950, Mrs. Steincamp was a secretary at Hoisington High School following her graduation. She retired as an officer at First National Bank after 21 years of service.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Altar Society, PEO Chapter DU, and Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, and was an avid bridge player.
Survivors include one son, Chris Steincamp and his wife Shelby of Wichita; and two grandchildren Sam Steincamp and Maura Steincamp. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Louis Dietz, and one sister, Irene Shirer.
Altar society rosary will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Louis Trung Dinh Hoang, officiant. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:30-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Prince of Peace Parish, in care of the funeral home.
