TOMS CREEK, Va. — Henry John Staudinger, 72, died Oct. 21, 2015, at Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, Va. Born March 30, 1943, in Great Bend, he was the son of Henry and Anna (Zeman) Staudinger. He attended Sacred Heart High School in Salina for two years and graduated from Claflin High School in 1961 as class valedictorian. In 1965, he graduated Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian from St. Benedict’s College in Atchison receiving a degree in history. He was a 1967 graduate of Georgetown School of Law, Washington, D. C. On Aug. 8, 1970, he married Karen Virginia Coffin at Alexandria, Va. He was head of the law firm, DiSalle and Staudinger in Washington, D. C.
Mr. Staudinger was a United States Army Reserve veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Staudinger, of the home; two sons, Angus Fynes-Clinton and wife Christine of Johannesburg, South Africa and Diego Vega and wife Diana Maria of Ecuador; one daughter, Pilvikki Kause Gomez and husband Isolino of Finland and Portugal; four sisters, Marie Ann Feist and husband Tom, Loretta Kuhlman and husband Don, and Vera Lea Conley and husband Jim, all of Great Bend, and Trisha Mills and husband Don of Salina; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Catherine Catholic Church in Dubuque with Father Don Bedore officiating. Inurnment will be at St. Catherine Cemetery in Dubuque. Memorials are suggested to St. Catherine Cemetery Fund or Fr. Joseph Staudinger Music Scholarship, Benedictine College, in care of the funeral home.
