DESOTO, Mo. — Howard Dale Owens was born on July 14, 1975 in Great Bend, Kan. He was the son of Robert Leon and Christine Lee (nee Chatfield) Owens. He died on April 19, 2024 in De Soto, Mo. at the age of 48.

Howard married Jennifer Merz on Oct. 15, 1994 in Atwood, Kan. He is survived by his father, Robert Owens of Bel Aire, Kan.; his wife, Jennifer Owens of De Soto, Mo.; five children, Ethan (Kathryn) Owens of De Soto, Mo., Morganne (Christopher) Plunkett of Ballwin, Mo., Madison (Ken Pogue) Owens of De Soto, Mo., Lydia Owens of De Soto, Mo., and Gwendolyn Owens of De Soto, Mo.; two sisters, Jatandra Birney of Bel Aire, Kan. and Miranda Carmona of Topeka, Kan.; two grandchildren, Charlotte and Theodore and three more on-the-way.

Howard worked as a project manager for Equipment Pro in Ste. Genevieve, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Christine (nee Chatfield) Owens.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St. De Soto, MO., officiated by Rev. Terry Crank. A memorial gathering from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to the family, and mailed to the Dietrich-Mothershead Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., De Soto, MO 63020.
