Ida Helena Galyardt 1910-2014

Ida Helena Galyardt, 104, died Dec. 29 at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend.  Born Nov. 13, 1910 at Russell County, she was the daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth (Voos) Voos.

She married Dave Galyardt Sept. 7, 1930 at Russell, Kansas.  He died Jan. 22, 1986. A Great Bend resident since 1986 coming from Hoisington, Mrs. Galyardt was a homemaker. She was a member of First Assembly of God, Great Bend.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Galyardt of La Jolla, Calif.; three daughters: Betty Barnard of Great Bend, Donita Keil of Great Bend and Vonnie Johnston of Fountain Valley, Calif.; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Dave Galyardt; four brothers: Henry Voos, Jake Voos, John Voos, and Ray Voos; and four sisters: Lottie, Lizzie, Eva, and Martha.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 10 a.m. at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Dwight Dozier officiating.  Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend.  Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 30 at Bryant Funeral Home.  A memorial fund has been established for First Assembly of God, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
