CHASE — James Dennis (JD)Sheldon, 31, died Sept. 26 at Ellinwood District Hospital. Born Nov. 26, 1979 in Great Bend, he was the son of Dennis L. Sheldon and Karen K. Spring-Norwood Sheldon. A resident of Chase, he was a truck driver for Barton County Feeders in Ellinwood and a mechanic for Straub International in Great Bend and for Ochs, Inc. in Otis.
Mr. Sheldon was a member of the National Songwriters Association.
Survivors include a brother, Robert and wife Susanne Spring, of Derby; two sisters, Debbie Glenn and husband Kirk and Deadra Schlotthauer and fiance Larry Cook, all of Ellinwood; father, Dennis Sheldon and wife Sue of Chase; four nieces; two nephews; and four great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother; and a brother, Edward Paul Sheldon.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Ellinwood with the Rev. Mike Joiner officiating. Burial will be at the Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood. Friends may visit from 1 to 8 p.m. today with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to EMS or the Ellinwood Hospital Auxiliary.
