James Thomas Goodenough, 53, went home to be with the Lord and his parents, Norma and Billy Goodenough, on November 25, 2021. He was born May 25, 1968, in Long Beach, California.
Being raised in Iola, Jim was a longtime Great Bend resident, who also resided in Ohio. Jim fulfilled one of his dreams of owning his own semi-truck and trucking company, “Goodenough Trucking, LLC.” He and his wife enjoyed running the business together as partners in life, as well as business. He also enjoyed working on cars, NASCAR, and the LA Rams.
Jim left shattered his loving and devoted wife, Tammy; brothers, Mark (Darcy) Goodenough of Great Bend, Kansas, and Matthew (Lisa) Goodenough of Las Vegas, Nevada; children, Summer (Kendall) McKee of Fredonia, Kansas, Trent Goodenough of Wichita, KS, Trey (Olivia) Smith of Wichita, KS, Thomas “Tommy” (Kayla) Goodenough of Wellington, Ohio, Julia Hitts of Toledo, Ohio, M.J. Ruble of Toledo, Ohio, Peter “Pete” Ruble of Toledo, Ohio, Sabrina “Bri” (Robbie) Prince of Dingess, West Virginia, Angelika “Ange” Herman of Dingess, West Virginia; grandchildren, Zander and Erika McKee, Annabelle, Lily and Sully Smith, Andrew Cesare, Jo and Jimi Chestnutwood, Melissa and Emma Harteis, Asher and Luca Prince; nieces and nephews, Brandon, Zachary, Caden, Dilana, Jacie, Emerie, and Logan; his devoted fur babies whom he would do anything for and has spoiled rotten, Tank and Toto; as well as many, many friends and other family members.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Bryant Funeral Home. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Sycamore, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the James Thomas Goodenough Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Funds will help with medical, funeral, and living expenses for Tammy, as the trucking company was the sole income and will not generate revenue without Jim driving.
