Janet Rankin, 95, passed away July 12, 2022, at The Village Of The Heights, Houston Texas. She was born Dec. 24, 1926, on a farm in Albert, Kan. She always said, “when my family came home from Christmas Eve service, I was dangling from the Christmas tree.” Janet was the daughter of Herman and Sena Behrens. She married Daylon Rankin on the very hot day of Aug. 6, 1947.

She was a lifelong resident of Central Kansas. Janet was an active member of Peace Lutheran Church, serving many roles. She was also a supportive farming partner to Daylon. 

Survivors include a son, Randy Rankin (Mary); a daughter, Pam Becker; three grandchildren, Laura Matyszewski (Sebastian), Colby Rankin (Paige), Ashton Becker (Sammy); and six much loved great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held on Friday, Sept. 23, 2022, 10:30 a.m., at Peace Lutheran Church, rural Albert, Kan. Internment will follow. Memorials have been designated to the Peace Lutheran Scholarship fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net
