HAYS — Janice Ulrich, 71, died Jan. 13 at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. Born Dec. 20, 1941 in New Rockford, N.D., she was the daughter of George and Evelyn (Olson) Caley. On Dec. 28, 1973 she married George Ulrich in Russell. He died on Jan. 14, 1997. A resident of Hays since 1974, coming from Russell, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Ulrich was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed being with family, playing Bingo, reading, bowling and sewing.
Survivors include four sons, Dave Jacobs and his wife Stephanie of Great Bend, Bill Jacobs and his wife Linda of Derby, Mike Jacobs of Spring, Texas, and Doug Ulrich and his wife Kerri of Greensburg; one daughter, Kandi Wolf and her husband Dennis of Great Bend; two brothers, George Caley of Winchester, Va.; Bruce Caley of Beaumont, Texas; 11 grandchildren, Jon Jacobs and his fiancée Leesa, Matt Jacobs, Sarah Waller and her husband Jake, Amy Piper and her fiancé Matt Patzner, Shalena Jacobs, Nicholas Jacobs, Nathaniel Jacobs, Morgen Ulrich, Kaden Ulrich, Beverly Wolf and her fiancé David Lang, and Raymond Wolf and his fiancée Tonya Trimmer; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Don Paden officiating. Burial will be at the Russell City Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home.
