ELLINWOOD — Jeremiah G. Langen, age 30 years, of Ellinwood, Kan. and formerly of Great Bend, Kan. and Keller, Texas, passed away at the Ellinwood District Hospital in Ellinwood, Kan. on Wednesday evening, April 1, 2020. Jeremiah was born on July 5, 1989 at Great Bend, Kan. to Dennis and Alice (Martindale) Neff, and was adopted at an early age by Gregory P. Langen. While in Great Bend Jeremiah was known for his music and drumming, having played in several bands in high school and church youth groups, and was a youth representative on the Great Bend Skate Park Committee which brought the skate park to town. Jeremiah attended Grace Community Church in Great Bend and was active in youth groups at Grace Community and First Assembly of God in Great Bend. He moved with his family to Keller, Texas at the age of 16, and graduated from Keller High School in 2006. Jeremiah’s hobbies included music (both playing guitar and drumming), and playing poker.
Survivors include his father, Gregory P. Langen of Azle, Texas; one son, Braxton Hernandez of Fort Worth, Texas; two brothers, Chad Langen of Weatherford, Texas and Jared Mitchell of Salina, Kan.; his grandmother, Carol A. Langen of Azle, Texas. Jeremiah was preceded in death by his grandfather, Paul D. Langen.
Cremation has been chosen. Due to the current national health crisis and in accordance with the latest restrictions placed on public gatherings, Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery near Great Bend, Kan. Memorials may be directed to the Golden Belt Community Foundation, 1307 Williams Street, Great Bend, KS 67530 for either the Central Kansas Christian Academy Scholarship Fund or the Golden Belt Humane Society, both of Great Bend, Kan.
