GREAT BEND — Jesse Joe Espinosa, 70, passed away July 22, 2020, at Hays Medical Center, Hays. He was born on June 2, 1950, at Great Bend, to Jose & Natalia (Ramirez) Espinosa. He married Barbara Clements on October 2, 1982, at Great Bend. She survives. 

A lifetime Great Bend resident, Jess was a construction worker. He was a member of the Eagles, Bikers of Central Kansas, and Big Bend Lake. He liked fishing and watching westerns but especially enjoyed being with his family and grandchildren.  

Survivors include, his wife Barbara Espinosa of the home; two sons, James Pattinson and girlfriend Denise, and Joseph Pattinson and girlfriend Jennifer, all of Hutch; two daughters, Anita Stringos and husband George of Arlington, and Kathy Pattinson of Wichita; six brothers, Lawrence Espinosa, Joe Espinosa, Bobby Espinosa, Oscar Espinosa, and Butch Espinosa, all of Great Bend, and Gilbert Espinosa of Springfield, Mo; two sisters, Lali Simõn of Manhattan, and Jane Stejskal of Texas; 17 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren;  and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, Jerrod Espinosa and Joe Chay Espinosa. 

The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 27, 2020 at Bryant Funeral Home. Inurnment graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, with Michael Espinosa presiding. Memorials are suggested to the Jesse Espinosa Funeral Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
