Jessica Lynn Alsbury 1981 - 2019

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Jessica Lynn Alsbury, 37, St. Joseph, Mo., went to be with the Lord and her mother on Oct. 10, 2019 at KU Medical Center surrounded by her family.

She was born Nov. 11, 1981 to Robert (Butch) Alsbury and Brenda Baines (Nutt) in St. Joseph, Mo.

Jessica grew up in St. Joseph, Mo. and the surrounding area. She later moved to Clay Center, Kan. and then to Great Bend, Kan. when she gradated from high school and then attended Barton Community College for a short period before she took off to travel around the country with friends. She settled in St. Louis, Mo. where she bartended at Club Viva Salsa Regg and Llywelyn’s Pub, where she met many more of her great friends and lived there for nine years.

Jessica landed herself back in St. Joseph, Mo. and Atchison, Kan. She loved spending time with her family, niece and nephews, shopping, cooking, stargazer lilies, big sunglasses and planning her next tattoo. Jessica was headstrong and willful with a huge soft heart. Family and friends will miss her sense of humor and how she would “just tell it like it is.”

She was preceded in death by her mother, Brenda Baines (Nutt); sister, Erica Alsbury; step-brother, Tanner Baines; paternal grandparents, Bob and Juanita Alsbury; maternal grandfather, George J. Nutt; and cousin, Amanda Snethen.

Survivors include her father, Robert “Butch” Alsbury (Dara), St. Joseph, MOo.; step-father, Jack Baines, Atchison, Kan.; brother, Joshua Alsbury (Tiffany); sister, Sarah Alsbury; step-sisters, Rachel Powell, Ashley Bottorff (Rick); step-brother, Thomas Powell; niece, Jaybree Alsbury; nephews, Ryder Alsbury and Ridge Weston; grandparents, Jim and Vernis Roberts; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Celebration of Life 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, 2019, 10690 SW Bluff, St. Joseph, MO, 64504. Inurnment King Hill Cemetery.
