Joan M. Chisholm, 86, passed away on Dec. 23, 2021, at Good Samaritan in Hutchinson. She was born on May 18, 1935 at Ellinwood to Harry M. and Mary Anna (Weber) Schartz. Joan married Paul R. Chisholm on Aug. 24, 1957 at Great Bend. He died April 1, 2011.

Mrs. Chisholm was a life-long area resident. A devoted farm wife and homemaker, Joan was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish and Altar Society. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

She is survived by: a son, Scott Chisholm and wife Linda of Great Bend; two grandchildren, Ashley Gerhardt and husband Ryan, and Brent Chisholm and fiancé Erin Ensley, all of Great Bend; two great-grandchildren, Bexley and Korbyn Gerhardt. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul; son, Brad and infant twin daughters; brother, Melvin N. Schartz and sister, Norma Lee Garrett.

Visitation will take place on Monday, Dec. 27, 2021, from 2-8 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home with an Altar Society Rosary at 4 p.m. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday. Interment will be at the Great Bend Cemetery.  Memorials can be made to the Prince of Peace Altar Society or Holy Family School Endowment, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
