JoAnn A. Schuckman 1923-2015

LACROSSE — JoAnn A. Schuckman, 92, died Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Rush County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care, La Crosse.  Born Jan 11, 1923, in Loretto, she was the daughter of John and Catherine (Schoenfeldt) Basgall.  She was a lifelong resident of Rush County, Kansas.  
JoAnn was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse, Kansas; and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 7428, Hoisington.  On March 8, 1943, she married Rudolph “Rudy” Schuckman at La Crosse.  He preceded her in death Sept. 15, 1985.
Survivors include:  her son, Dennis R. Schuckman (Dotti), La Crosse; eight grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren, and the twelfth on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son, Joseph Schuckman; one daughter, Linda M. Pettitt; two infant daughters, Paula Schuckman, and Renea Schuckman; one granddaughter, Linda Renea Sohm; nine brothers, Henry Basgall, Fidelis Basgall, Clarence Basgall, Everett Basgall, Sylvester Basgall, John Basgall, Jerome Basgall, Maurice Basgall, and Arthur Basgall; and four sisters, Mary Urban, Helen Holmeister, Florence Koerner, and Frances Schuckman.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 12, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse.  A vigil service and rosary will be at 7 p.m.  Church visitation will be Monday, July 13, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, La Crosse.  Funeral service will be Monday, July 13, at 1:30 P.M. at the church with Father Matthew Kumi officiating.  Interment will be in the La Crosse City Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to masses.  Condolences or remembrances may be left for the family at www.charterfunerals.com/locations/janousek-lacrosse.php.
