JoAnn (Frank) Herrman 1927 - 2012

JoAnn (Frank) Herrman, 84, died on Sept. 24 at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. Born Dec. 17, 1927 in Olpe, she was the daughter of Roy Emmitt Langley and Jennie Lee Mayes. In 1945 she graduated from Emporia High School. In 1950, she married Duane Frank. He died in 1972. She then married Julius Peter Herrman in 1983. He died in 1999. A resident of Great Bend since 1973, formerly of Topeka, she was a Santa Fe Railroad train router in Topeka, a clerk at Gibson Hallmark and County Treasurer, both at Great Bend.
Mrs. Herrman was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and Altar Society, in Great Bend.
Survivors include a daughter, Robin (Michael) McCarty of Great Bend; three sisters, Myra Lee Jones of Emporia, Delores Gibson of Wichita, and Lois Lynn (Darrell) Jones of Kansas City, Mo.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two husbands; a daughter, Kimberly Kay Frank Sigg; two brothers, Joe Langley and Gene Langley; and a sister, Melba Wingert.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Partrick’s Catholic Church in Great Bend with a 9:45 a.m. Rosary preceding Mass, officiating by Father Reginald Urban. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka. Friends may visit from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Kimple Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m. and from 9 a.m. to service time on Friday at the church. Memorials are suggested to KU Cancer Research Institute or Alzheimer’s Association.
