HANSTON – JoAnn M. Halling, 86, died Jan. 8, 2012, at the Hodgeman County Health Center in Jetmore. She was born July 14, 1925, at Rozel, the daughter of Harvey and Maggie Milton Unruh. On Aug. 16, 1946, she married Lawrence L. Halling at Rozel. He died July 30, 2008. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker and was a retired bookkeeper for the Co-op in Hanston.
Mrs. Halling was a member of the United Methodist Church at Hanston, and was the church treasurer.
Survivors include a son, Dale Halling, Wichita; a daughter, Wanda Wagnon, Great Bend; a brother, Gorden Rodrock, Mt. Vernon, Mo.; a sister, Marjorie Zumalt, Joplin Mo.; nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Unruh, and a great-grandson, Judson Beck Hart.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Hanston, with Pastor Dennis Fulton presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in the Mennonite Cemetery, Hanston.
