HUTCHINSON — Joe E. Brougher, 82, died July 16, 2016 at Davita Dialysis Center, Hutchinson. Born July 5, 1934 at Great Bend, he was the son of Earl “Skinny” and Edna (Hosford) Brougher. He married Viann Pinkston March 21, 1953 at St. John. A longtime Hutchinson resident, Mr. Brougher was a farmer, cattleman and oil producer.
He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson.
Survivors include his wife, Viann Brougher, of the home; three daughters: Toni Rice of Great Bend, Vicki Brown and her husband Bob of Houston, Texas, and Sherri Massey and her husband Randy of Manhattan; and one sister: Esther Stoss of Hutchinson; nine grandchildren, Rocky Seybert, Tim Seybert, Andi Rice, Jessica Patzell, Matt Brown, Nicole Brown, Adam Massey, Sam Massey and Hanna Massey; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Patti Patzell, and two brothers, Jerry Brougher and Jim Brougher.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, with the Rev. Bones Nay, First Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson, officiating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home. Memorials are requested to First Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
