RAYMOND — John A. Snider, 77, died Oct. 31 at Cherry Village Nursing Home in Great Bend. Born Jan. 5, 1936, in Raymond, he was the son of Dee Lambert and Clara Mary (Wille) Snider. He graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. A lifetime resident of Raymond, he was a farmer and cattleman.
Mr. Snider was a United States Army veteran. He attended Raymond Baptist Church and was a member of the Fort Hays State Alumni Association.
Survivors include two nieces, Deidre Richardson of Brownell, and Sheri Koch-Cunningham of Hutchinson; two nephews, Tim Koch of Alden, and Todd Koch of Lawrence; special friends, Audria Bieberle of Bushton, and Mike Lucas of Raymond; one sister-in-law, Grace Elaine Snider-King of Healy; and one brother-in-law, Calvin Koch of Sterling. He was preceded in death by one brother, Dee J. Snider; one sister, Marcellene Koch; and one nephew, Clifford Snider.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Raymond Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Hendricks officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery with military rites by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday at Bryant Funeral Home and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Raymond Baptist Church. Memorials are suggested to the Raymond Baptist Church or the Raymond Fire Department, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
