EL DORADO — John Arthur Cloyes, 71, passed away July 20, 2013 in El Dorado.
John was born in El Dorado on Aug. 6, 1941 to Dr. Arthur P. and Elizabeth (Catlin) Cloyes. He married Eleanor Wilson July 29, 1972 in Arvada, Colo. John worked as a maintenance mechanic at the Coors Brewery Companym retiring in 1996. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycles and dirt bikes, working on cars and fishing. John was a member of the NRA and the First United Methodist Church.
John is survived by his children, Roxane and Merle Biehler, Great Bend; John Joseph and Glenna Cloyes, Hanford, Calif.; and Thomas Arthur Cloyes, Hagerstown, Md.; a sister, Mary Beth and Richard Smith, Sanford, N.C.; grandchildren, Tamara, Jeremy, Emily, Paige, Afton, Kammi and Bobby; and great-grandchildren, Preston, Bobby, Hunter, Ethan, Harley and Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and sister Connie. A memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society or Guide dogs for the Blind of San Rafeal, Calif.
A celebration of his life is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday at Kirby Morris Funeral Home.
