CHASE — John G. Adams, 84, died Sept. 7 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson. He was born Jan. 29, 1927, at Lathem, the son of Roy J. and Gladys Goldie McCarty Adams. He married Vera M. Pfannenstiel on Sept. 10, 1957, at Great Bend. A former oil field pumper, he was a longtime Chase resident, and he moved to Lyons in 2010.

Mr. Adams was a member of the former St. Marys Catholic Church, Chase; Eagles Lodge, Great Bend; and Moose Lodge, Hutchinson.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Johnny Adams, Broken Arrow, Okla., and Curtis Adams, Lyons; a daughter, Rena McKenna, Claflin; a brother, Harry Adams, Great Bend; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Gene Adams, LaDon Adams, Merle Adams, Birdene Adams, Earl "Tex" Adams; and a sister, Louise Estabrook.

A graveside service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Chase, with the Rev. Robert Spencer officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Mary Cemetery, Chase. Memorial contributions can be sent to St. Paul Catholic Church, in care of the Birzer Funeral Homes.
