John L. Jack Godin 1939 - 2015

PAWNEE ROCK — John L. “Jack” Godin, 76, died May 25, 2015, at the Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center in Wichita. Born March 24, 1939, in Tupper Lake, N.Y., he was the son of Frank and Marion (Prespare) Godin. On Oct. 31, 1981, he married Mildred Gable in Great Bend. A resident of Pawnee Rock for six years, coming from Great Bend, he was a heavy equipment operator in the oilfield and later worked for maintenance at Great Bend Housing Authority.


Survivors include his wife, of the home; one son, Robert Macias and  his wife Theresa of Amarillo, Texas; four daughters, Jerrie Breese and husband Charles Chism of Ellinwood, Lois Anderson and Jolene McQuiston, both of Great Bend, and Coni McQuiston of Pawnee Rock; one sister, Theresa Madore of Malone, N.Y.; two brothers, Charles Godin of Tupper Lake, N.Y., and James Godin of Valrico, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, six brothers and one sister.


A private graveside inurnment will be held at the Pawnee Rock Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
