GREAT BEND — John Risk Sawaya, 58, died Dec. 15, 2016, at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington. 
Born June 14, 1958, in Salina, he was the son of Emerson Dean and Erma Jean (Gordon) Sawaya. A longtime resident of Great Bend he had worked for Duke Drilling Company. He was a gifted artist.
Survivors include a sister, Diane Lynn Summers, Bowling Green, Ky.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Great Bend Cemetery North. In case of inclement weather, services will be held at Bryant Funeral Home.
