LARNED — Johnnie L. Collins, 95, passed away July 27, 2016, at Hays Medical Center. Born March 6, 1921, in Cleburne, Texas, she was the daughter of John B. and Murry Stanford Coble. On April 14, 1946, she married Delbert Collins, in Caldwell. He passed away Jan. 1, 1983. A longtime area resident, she was a teacher and a homemaker. She also taught Sunday school, and loved roses and KU basketball.
Mrs. Collins was a founding member of the Church of Christ in Larned. She was also a member of the African Violet Club. Survivors include, three sons, Jay Dee (Karen), of Midwest City, Okla., Dan (Sarah), of Larned, and Allan of Larned; three brothers, J.D. Coble of Albuquerque, N.M., Joe Coble (Barb), of Presho, S.D. and Jack Coble (Rose Mary), of Van Alstyne, Texas; a sister, Betty (Gary) Duncan, of Geary, Okla.; brother-in-law, Leon Fowler of Odessa, Texas; a sister-in-law, Lenore Coble of Rapid City, S.D.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Coble; a sister, Inez Fowler; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Coble.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Monday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel in Larned with Minister Jimmie Keas presiding. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 1 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the mortuary. Memorials may be given to the Women’s Ministry, in care of the funeral home.
