LAMAR, Colo. — Joseph M. Wilkening, 71, died May 17, 2012 at his home in Lamar, Colo., with his family by his side. Born on April 19, 1938, in Lincoln, Neb., he was the son of Walter and Ruth (Ruppecht) Wilkening.
Joe is survived by his children, Loretta (Donnie) Marsh of Wiley, Colo., James Robert Wilkening of Lakin, and Roxanne Wilkening of Great Bend; grandchildren, Joseph (Isabelle) Marsh, Krista (Cory) Gilbert and Bryan (Schuyler) Marsh; one great-grandchild, Haylie Marsh; as well as a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verda Wilkening; and his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m.  Thursday at the Peacock Family Chapel with Harold Bohls officiating. Visitation will be held from 1  until 6 p.m. on Wednesday the funeral home.
