PRATT — Josephine M. Strohl, 89, died Sept. 26 at the Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita. She was born Dec. 8, 1920, in St. Leo, the daughter of Edward N. and Emma (Armbruster) Freund. On Nov. 6, 1945, she married Richard ‘Dick’ Strohl in St. Leo. He preceded her in death. She had lived in Pratt since 1984, coming from St. Leo.
Mrs. Strohl was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Women’s Altar Society of Sacred Heart, Ministry of Praise, Pratt Garden Club and Pratt Regional Medical Center Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons, Joe Strohl of Pratt and Mike Strohl of Cunningham; two daughters, Lucille Strohl of Great Bend and Carol Miles of Tribune; one sister, Loretta M. Holcomb of Kingman; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Tom Strohl, three brothers, F.M. Freund, L.C. Freund and C.R. Freund; and two sisters: Marie J. Freund and Elizabeth Freund.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Larrison Mortuary in Pratt. Vigil service will be at 7 tonight at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pratt. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with burial at 2 p.m. at St. Leo Catholic Cemetery, St. Leo, with the Rev. Floyd McKinney presiding. Memorials may be sent to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart School or donor’s choice, in care of the mortuary.
