HOISINGTON — Joyce Elaine Pace, 69, of Hoisington, died Aug. 27 at Clara Barton Hospital, Hoisington. She was born April 11, 1941, at Clinton, Mo., the daughter of William Rhote and Dixie Lee (Null) Anderson. She married Forrest J. Wallace, Jr., June 23, 1961, at Richmond, Mo. He died Nov. 5, 1970. She married A.L. (Dick) Pace on Sept. 13, 1975, at Raytown, Mo. He died in August 1985. She worked part-time as a registered nurse at Clara Barton Hospital and the nursing home, also as a school nurse for USD 431 for 17 years, and for 26 years with the Hoisington EMS/Ambulance Service, serving for the last several years as the director. She was a Hoisington resident since 1977.

Mrs. Pace was a member of First Baptist Church in Richmond, Mo., and attended First United Methodist Church in Hoisington.

Survivors include one son, Rodney E. Pace of Webb City, Mo.; two daughters, Beverly J. Schmeidler of Great Bend and Amy C. Pace of Tonganoxie; a stepdaughter, Linda M. Williams of Independence, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Jefferson Levon Boor, Nicholas Ray Pace, Dallas Alan Schmeidler, Forrest Grant Pace, Marcus Alan Schmeidler, Abby Leah Pace and Eliott Wallace Pace; and a sister by heart, Sue Wagner, Hoisington. She was preceded in death by a stepson, Ray A. Wallace.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, with Pastor Don Fisher officiant. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. A committal service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Memory Gardens, Richmond, Mo., with Pastor Liz Deveney officiant. Donations to memorial funds for the Hoisington Ambulance Fund or for the Hoisington Public LIbrary may be made in care of the funeral home.
