LARNED — June M. McConnaughhay, 88, passed away March 14, 2016, at Country Living in Larned. Born May 31, 1927, in Great Bend she was the daughter of Virgil L. and Grace Cooper Gilbert. On July 31, 1954, she married John McConnaughhay in Pawnee Rock. He passed away Oct. 16, 2004. A lifetime area resident, she was a school teacher.
Mrs. McConnaughhay was a member of the Larned United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, D.A.R., Eastern Star, NEA and the 21st Century Club.
Survivors include a son, Johnny (Patt) of Hastings, Neb.; four daughters, Jayne Rucker (Cary) of Burdett, Janet Norman (Bret) of Adel, Iowa, Judy Sneath of Holyrood, and Jill Milhon (Darin) of Larned; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 18, at the Larned United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bethann Black presiding. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Thursday at Beckwith Mortuary. Memorials may be given to the Larned United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund or the Country Living of Larned, both in care of the funeral home.
