Justin Keenan Perez 1979 - 2017

LARNED — Justin Keenan Perez, 37, passed away April 11, 2017, at the Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City. Born Nov. 17, 1979, in Larned, he was the son of John P. Perez and Rebecca D. Kirchgassner. A lifetime Larned and Dodge City resident, he was a D.J. He donated blood to the American Red Cross and participated in the Special Olympics and the 4th of July run in Larned. He also enjoyed playing dominos and bingo at his apartment complex and loved country music.
Mr. Perez was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Dodge City, where he served as an Elder, taught Sunday school and was very active.
Survivors include his father, John P. (Olga) Perez of Dodge City; three brothers, John P. (Janice) Perez Jr. of Larned, Gregory Shane (C.J.) Perez of Topeka, and Jason R. (Rebecca) Perez of Dodge City; six sisters, R. Michelle Perez James of Woodward, Okla., Beatrice I. (Andrew) Joaquin of Glendale, Ariz., Julie L. (Filiberto) Cubillo of Hays, Ashley S. Perez of Wichita, Cassandra S. (Francisco) Mata of Amarillo, Texas, and O. Vanessa (Nicholas) Rodriguez of Dodge City; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rebecca D. Blackwell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 17, at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned with Bishop Peter Solie presiding and Bishop David Bunkall conducting. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and 1-8 p.m. on Sunday at the mortuary.
