Karen (Nagel) Behrens, 66, passed away August 26, 2021, at the University Of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus. She was born May 18, 1955 at Great Bend to Harvey & Joyce (Muehlenburg) Nagel. She married Ross Alan Behrens on January 31, 1975, at Great Bend. He died December 11, 2011.
A lifetime Great Bend resident, Karen was a pharmacy tech for Wal-Mart. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed painting, yard work and bird houses. Karen loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include, her mother, Joyce Nagel; two sons, Michael Behrens of Hoisington and Brian Behrens of Wichita; a daughter, Melissa Serrien and husband Greg of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a sister, Vickie Owston of Houston, Tex.; and three grandchildren, Zachary Serrien, Sophie Serrien and Jeffery Serrien. She was preceded in death by her father, Harvey Nagel; and her husband, Ross Behrens.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 30, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Pastor Merle Brockhoff presiding.
