GREAT BEND — Karen Ruth Miller, 78, passed away March 18, 2018, at Fountainview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rose Hill. She was born June 20, 1939, at Lyons, to Leslie and Gladys (Wright) Wade. Karen married Samuel Marvin Miller, Jr. August 28, 1966, at Great Bend. He died June 13, 2004.
Karen, a long-time resident of Great Bend, held previous clerical employment at the Rice County Extension Office, Barton County Extension Office, and the Barton County Attorney’s Office. She was a previous member of the First Christian Church, Great Bend.
Survivors include one son, Scott Leslie Miller and wife Terra of Hoisington; one daughter-in-law, Tracy Miller of Great Bend; one brother, Farrel Wade and wife Melody of Wichita; six grandchildren, Mackenzie, Morrigan, Macy, Skylar, Khloi Miller, and Elsi Miller; one niece, Stephanie Osborne; and one great niece and one great nephew. She was preceded in death by one son, Justin Lee Miller.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Reverend Dick Ogle presiding. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend. Visitation will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Good Shepherd Hospice, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
