Karen Sue “Kay” Neighbors, 78, passed away August 19, 2020, at Diversicare of Larned. She was born on May 21, 1942, at Great Bend, to Lloyd & Bernadine (Goodman) Davis. She married Jack Lee Neighbors on June 2, 1970, at Oklahoma City, OK. He died July 27, 2006.
A lifetime Barton county resident and long-time farmer, Kay worked for Great Bend Manufacturing as a secretary and in accounts payable at Barton Community College. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Larned. She enjoyed baking, flower and vegetable gardening and crafts of all kinds. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include, three sons, Brian Wilson and wife Dana of Enid, Okla., Kent Bowersox and wife Xan of Larned, and Arthur Dean Bowersox of Great Bend; two daughters, Laryssa Howard, and Jana Britt and husband Robert, all of Great Bend; a brother, Wayne Davis and wife Carolyn of Florida; sixteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Lee Neighbors; and her parents.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery North. Memorials are suggested to the Kay Neighbors Funeral Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
