Kathern M. “Blondie” Barry, 78, passed away Sept. 2, 2022, at Hays Medical Center. She was born on Oct. 26, 1943, at Great Bend, to Harvey and Albertia (Blair) Barry. 

Blondie was a lifetime Great Bend resident, having worked for Barry Tree Service and the Salvation Army. She loved bright colors and enjoyed sharing gifts with family and friends. Blondie had a heart of gold and especially loved spending time with her family, pets and nature.  

Survivors include, a sister, Evon Gallant of Great Bend; a brother, David M. Blair, Sr., of Leonardville, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews, including, Shawnda Gallant, Tony Morgan and Barry Gallant. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Nathine Barry; a brother, Howard Barry; and two half-sisters, Una Helmric and Diane Kirkham.

Visitation will be held from noon to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Reverend Dick Ogle presiding. Interment will be in the Hoisington Cemetery. Memorials have been designated to Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
