Kathleen Kimpler, 85, died Nov. 15 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born July 8, 1926 in Ellinwood, she was the daughter of George Peter and Mary Ann (Kramer) Kimpler. A resident of Great bend since 1975, coming from Ellinwood, she was a principal and teacher in the Wichita and Dodge City Diocese Catholic Schools for 34 years.
Ms. Kimpler was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Altar Society and a life member of the National Teachers Association.
Survivors include a brother-in-law, Lawrence Liebl, of Claflin; a sister-in-law, Irene Kimpler of Ellinwood; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Norman Kimpler; and two sisters, Evelyn Heinz and Mary Ann Liebl.
Altar Society Rosary will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday followed by a vigil service at 7 p.m., both at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Reginald A. Urban officiating. Interment will be at the Sisters’ Resurrection Cemetery in Great Bend. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
