GREAT BEND — Kay Hallenbeck, 75, died Dec. 10, 2015, at her home in Great Bend.
Born Aug. 12, 1940, in Great Bend she was the daughter of Leon A. and Elsie M. (Schartz) Roth. On Aug. 5, 1972, she married Roger A. Hallenbeck in Great Bend. A lifetime resident of Barton County, she was a Registered Nurse for Central Kansas Medical Center, Dr. David Shivel, Dr. Charles B. Replogle, We Care Clinic, and Sterling House. She also taught craft classes for the Great Bend Recreation Commission.
Mrs. Hallenbeck was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, Great Bend Garden Club, American Eagle Club Board of Directors, and Bridge Club, all of Great Bend.
Survivors include her husband, Roger A. Hallenbeck, of the home; a daughter, Paulette Couf and her husband John, New Jersey; a brother, John H. Roth and his wife Connie, Ellinwood; three sisters, Diana Kaiser and her husband Delmar, Grainfield; Jenny L. Kasselman and her husband Pat, Ellinwood; and Rosie Joiner and her husband Don, Ellinwood; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and friends.
Altar Society Rosary will be held at 4 p.m. and a Vigil Service with Daughters of Isabella Rosary at 7 p.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Don Bedore celebrating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, at Bryant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or Donor’s Choice, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net
