Kenneth Lynn Seibert 1938-2017

Kenneth Lynn Seibert, 78, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family Nov. 20, 2016.
Ken was born in Great Bend on May 5, 1938, the son of Grant and Minnie Seibert. He graduated from Fort Hays State University and served in the U.S. Navy. After his service in the Navy, he moved to Kansas City where he began his 50-year career in the hotel business. He married Shirley Anne Rhoades Dec. 7, 1964.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, Raymore, Mo.; his children Bob (Betsy), Lee’s Summit, Mo.; David (Michelle), Lee’s Summit, Mo.; Amy (Justin) Ruby, Overland Park; and Michael (Kelly) Mission Hills; his seven grandchildren, Maggie, Morgan, Sailor, Payton, Piper, Hadley and Grant and his great-grandson Jaxon. He is also survived by his sister, Rosemary; sister-in-law, Deborah, brother-in-law, John and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Roy Allen, Lowell Dean and his sister Twila.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bergthal Mennonite Cemetery, rural Pawnee Rock, with Pastor Lynn Schlosser officiating. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
