Kenneth McCosh 1937 - 2013


HILLSDALE, Mich. — Kenneth D. McCosh, 76, of Hillsdale, Mich., passed away Sept. 18, 2013 at his home.
Born March 24, 1937 in Minneapolis, he was the son of Earl and Zelma (Fagan) McCosh.
On Jan. 21, 1956, he married Karen Petz. She survives. He was a graduate of Great Bend High School. Ken retired from Rice Engineering in 1995. He served as Hillsdale County Parks and Recreation Director for 17 years and owned and operated McCosh Auto Body from 1983 to 1999.     
Mr. McCosh attended St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hillsdale, Mich. He was on the Hillsdale City Council in the 1970s, a former member and president of the Hillsdale Jaycees and a member of the Hillsdale Elks Lodge. He was a member and president of the Hillsdale Bi-Centennial Car Club. Ken had a love for cars, especially his classic Studebakers and owned several other collections that included coins, matchbooks, pens, hats and T-shirts.
Survivors include his wife Karen; three children, Yvonne Kay (Frank) Williams, Jacksonville, Ill.; LeDayle (Zach) Kinney, Middleville, Mich.; and Terry (Diana) McCosh, Hillsdale, Mich.; three grandchildren, Benjamin Williams (Phillip Kadowaki); Erin (Tony) Studer and Jessica McCosh (Kevin Lambos); two great-grandchildren, Brayden Lambos and Rosemary Studer; and a sister, Wilma Bahr, Albert.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Don McCosh; and two sisters, Dorothy Hartman and Geraldine Evans.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hillsdale, Mich. with Father David Reamsnyder officiating. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Hillsdale County or St. Anthony Catholic Church.
