Kevin John Urban 1963-2020

HOISINGTON — Kevin John Urban, 56, was called to a better life April 14, 2020 at Wheatland Nursing Center, in Russell, Kansas. He was born November 25, 1963, in Hoisington, KS, the son of Julius and Ann (Tinkel) Urban.

Unfortunately, Kevin faced many challenges in his life, suffering a devastating car accident at 18 and serious physical and property damage in 2001’s tornado. While Kevin will be missed deeply, he will be remembered by his family and friends as the fun-loving teenager who loved to play pool and listen to rock-n-roll music. 

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by: his brother, Tom (Barbara) Urban; two sisters, Patty (Duane) Polzin and Geneva (Dennis) Applebee; eight nieces and nephews, Travis Urban, Timothy Urban, Tiffany Urban, Tanner Polzin, Turner Polzin, Ryan Applebee, Tucker Applebee, and Jalisa Applebee; and nine grandnieces and grandnephews.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Hoisington, Kansas.

A private Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2020. Due to COVID 19 public live stream will be available at   www.nicholsonrickefh.net, under Kevin’s obituary. Father Anselm Eke will preside over the ceremony.  Private burial in St. John the Evangelist Catholic Cemetery will follow the ceremony.

If you wish to remember Kevin please say a prayer for him, or have a mass said in his honor at Saint John the Evangelist Church.
