Koneta Anton, 88, of Fort Collins, Colorado, peacefully passed away in her sleep, June 28, 2015. Born 10/17/1926 in New Albany, to Charles Runyon and Cynthia Runyon (Baker), she was the youngest of 12 siblings.
Having lived most of her life in Kansas, she spent the last seven years in Fort Collins where she was lovingly cared for by the nurses and staff of Collinwood Assisted Living.
In 1947, she married Walker Reames Bird in Stafford. Together they helped manage the Bird family Poultry and Egg Company in Stafford for several years. Reames passed in 1967. For more than forty years she lived in Great Bend, where she married Quentin Anton in 1978. Quentin passed in 2007. She was the display and advertising manager for JC Penney in Great Bend for twenty plus years.
While Koneta enjoyed cooking and crafting and had a keen compassion for animals, she will be most remembered for her sense of humor.
Survivors include one daughter, Reneta Bird and a son in law, Eric Piston, of Fort Collins; two grandsons, Brandon Santoro and Blake Santoro, of Fort Collins; one brother, Russell Runyon, of Casper, Wyoming, and numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Graveside Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 10, at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Great Bend. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
