LaRaine G. McLeland 1921 - 2016

LaRaine G. McLeland, 95, died Aug. 11, 2016 at her home in Great Bend. She was born May 5, 1921 at Sharon, Kan, the daughter of Joe and Florence (McKeever) Whelan.
She married Homer E. “Mac” McLeland Nov. 4, 1941 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend. He died Dec. 13, 1996. A Great Bend resident since 1929, coming from Sharon, Mrs. McLeland was a homemaker and seamstress. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Altar Society, and a former member of American Legion Argonne Post 180 Auxiliary, all of Great Bend.
Survivors include four sons, Larry McLeland and his wife Leanne of Satanta, Joe McLeland and his wife Jennifer of Wichita, David McLeland and his wife Lois of Hoisington, and Mark McLeland and his wife Lori of Ellinwood; two daughters, Nancy Fallon and her husband Jim of Tulsa, Okla., and Bonny Schartz and her husband Kyle of Great Bend; one sister, Theda Jo Wendel and her husband Jerry of Great Bend; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Jan McLeland; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Don Whelan and his wife Phyllis, and Cecil Whelan and his wife Bea.
Altar Society Rosary will be at 4 p.m., Sunday and Vigil Service will be at 7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 14, 2016 at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 15, 2016 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Ted Stoecklein celebrating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m., Sunday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Holy Family School Endowment, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
