SPRING HILL — Larry Ray Snyder, 76, passed away on June 28, 2016, at Olathe Medical Center. 
Born April 15, 1940, in Ellinwood, he was the son of Ellis and Marie (Senko) Snyder. He grew up in Ellinwood and attended Ellinwood High School Class of 1958. He later moved to California and finally settled in Miami County. On April 5, 1959, he married Doreen Flanders in Great Bend. He owned and operated Signal Hill Truck and Auto in Calif. and owned a Dairy Queen in Independence, Mo. He was an entrepreneur who enjoyed fishing, building, photography, gardening, racing slot cars, barbequing and smoking meat. He was a “fix-it-man” who also built race cars and motors. He developed fishing tackle and held a patent for its design. Larry will be missed by family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Doreen, of the home; daughter, Dena Ballew and husband Ken, Spring Hill; three sons, Lynn Snyder and wife Chris, Cincinnati, Ohio; Chad Snyder and wife Rachelle, Olathe; and Travis Snyder and wife Jill, Olathe; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild; and four siblings, Russell Snyder, Pleasanton, Calif.; Colleen Krom, Ellinwood; Louann Stokley, Hutchinson; and Karen Melcher, Pratt. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert Snyder; and a sister, Chloe White. 
APrivate Family Memorial Service will be held at Bruce Funeral Home in Spring Hill. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. Condolences may be left at www.brucefuneralhome.com.
