Larry Robert Ruble, 73, died Oct. 11 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born Nov. 30, 1939, in Great Bend, he was the son of Frank and Helen (Schwartz) Ruble. In 1958 he graduated from Great Bend High School. On April 3, 1958, he married Vickie Boos at Alva, Okla. A lifetime resident of Great Bend, he was employed by Marlette Homes for 18 years, GBI for 23 years and was a custodian for USD 428 for 10 years until his retirement.
Mr. Ruble was instrumental in helping to start the SRCA, was a little league coach and loved gardening, camping, boating, fishing, hunting and attending his grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Ruble, of the home; one son, Larry M. Ruble and his wife Lorrie of Great Bend; two daughters, DeAnna Moran and her husband Steve of Claflin, and Tammy Bell and her husband K.B. of Great Bend; one sister, Verla Hipp of Salina; six grandchildren, Nathan Farmer, Suzanne Johnson, Deidre Moran, Alisha Bell, Cody Ruble, and Bryce Moran; and two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Prescott and Brody Montes.
Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor David LeRoy officiating. Friends may visit from 1-9 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., Sunday and from 9 a.m. to service time on Monday, all at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Larry Ruble Expense Fund, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
