PFEIFER — Laurine M. Dreiling, 87, died, June 25 at Wesley Towers in Hutchinson. She was born Feb. 20, 1924, at Emmeram, to Joseph J. and Mary (Hammerschmidt) Dreiling. She married Norbert F. Dreiling on Aug. 29, 1944, at Hays. He died May 3, 1977. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Dreiling was a former member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and Altar Society of Pfeifer. She attended grade school in Hays, and moved to Victoria in 1947. In 1965, she moved to Pfeifer, and was very active in the church and cooked for many years at the parish hall for weddings and funeral dinners. In 1989, she moved to Kingman, then to Great Bend, and in 2006, she moved to Hutchinson.

Survivors include thirteen sons: Mike Dreiling and wife Karen, Tom Dreiling and wife, Marlene, all of Shulte; Roy Dreiling and Duane Dreiling, both of Wichita; Loren Dreiling, Rodger Dreiling and wife Doris, Galen Dreiling and companion Mary, Tim Dreiling and wife, Kim, and Mark Dreiling, all of Hutchinson; Jerry Dreiling and wife Brenda, Pfeifer; David Dreiling and wife, Vickie, Neal Dreiling and wife, Penny, all of Great Bend; Paul Dreiling and wife Angie, Goddard; three daughters: Elaine Clouse and husband Carrol "Joe", Kingman; Mary Koehler and husband Conrad, Norine Hamby and husband, Todd, all of Hutchinson; one brother, Bill Dreiling and wife Gladys, Denver, Colo.; one sister, Joann Schippers and husband Lawrence, Springfield, Mo.; 44 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one grandson, Travis Dreiling; five brothers, Alvin Dreiling, Marvin Dreiling, Norbert "Nibby’ Dreiling, Cletus Dreiling and Arlen Dreiling; two sisters, Ruby Dinkel and Bernita Kisner; and two daughters-in-law, Vera (Dome) Dreiling and Becky (Pennington) Dreiling.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Pfeifer. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pfeifer. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, all at Holy Cross Church in Pfeifer. Memorials are suggested to Holy Cross Charitable Fund.
