     LaVerna C. Moore, 80, died Feb. 26, 2015, at the Hays Medical Center. Born April 11, 1934, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of G.F. and Christina (Cook) Ohnmacht. Originally from Olmitz, she married Walter B. Moore Jr. on Sept. 8, 1956, at Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica, Chicago, Ill. He died Oct. 17, 2002. A Great Bend resident since 1991, returning from Chicago, she was a homemaker.
     Mrs. Moore was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Altar Society, in Great Bend.
     Survivors include four sons, Walter B. Moore of Kearney, Neb., John J. Moore and his wife Jeanne of Durango, Colo., Joseph F. Moore of Salina, and James A. Moore and his wife Phyllis of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two daughters, Mary C. Moore of Columbia, Mo., and Christina Moore of Great Bend; one sister, LaNora Barnes of Great Bend; one brother, Galen Ohnmacht of Corpus Christi, Texas; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister, Christina Hoelscher.
     Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 3 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Don Bedore celebrating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Altar society rosary will be held at 4 p.m., and vigil service will be held at 7 p.m., on Monday at Bryant Funeral Home. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to Holy Family School or Barton County Food Bank, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
