LaVina Grace Juergensen, 1923-2011

GREAT BEND — LaVina Grace Juergensen, 88, died October. 31, 2011 at her loving daughter’s home in Great Bend.
She was born Oct. 3, 1923 at rural Holyrood, the daughter of Christopher Fredrick and Emma (Christian) Voss.
She married Alvin James Juergensen August 10, 1944 at Great Bend. He died July 16, 1989. She was a registered nurse at St. Rose Hospital and Central Kansas Medical Center. Mrs. Juergensen was a Great Bend resident since 1940 coming from Holyrood. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Nursing Alumni Association and was active in many ladies groups within her church.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Juergensen, Great Bend; Alan Juergensen and his wife Colleen, Hutchinson; three daughters, Carla Komarek and her husband Mike, Edmond, Okl.a; Christy Rhodes, Sherman, Texas; Lorrie Moyers and her husband Randy, Great Bend; two sisters, Della Mae Raguse, Fort Scott; Marian McKay and her husband Charles, South Hutchinson; a brother, Dr. Wilber Voss and his wife Sondra, Tucson, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren, Matthew Juergensen, Mason Juergensen, Joshua Komarek and his wife Kacey, Stuart Komarek and his wife Michelle, Whitney Rhodes and her husband Brandon Ostrander, Julianne Rhodes, Justin Moyers, Alex Moyers, Nick Moyers, Macy Moyers, and Abbie Moyers; and six great-grandchildren, Jackson Komarek, Ethan Komarek, Ella Komarek, Sutton Komarek, Kason Komarek and Heath Ostrander.
She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Carl Raguse.
A funeral service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Great Bend, with Officiant The Reverend James A. Strasen. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Bryant Funeral Home.
Memorials may be sent to the Trinity Lutheran Church or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
