LARNED — Lawrence Eugene Campbell, 82, died Nov. 24, 2017 at Diversicare of Larned. Born Nov. 29, 1934 in Larned, he was the son of Lawrence Edward and Alice Marie Phillips Campbell. A lifetime area resident, he was the Administrative Assistant and lived at Beckwith Mortuary for 44 years.
He was a member of the Larned United Methodist Church and Ash Valley Grange. He was part of a quartet at Hutchinson Community College from 1953 - 1955 where he sang in the movie Picnic; he also sang in the church choir, and 1,778 funerals from 1958 – 2002. Survivors include his two sisters, Carolyn Duncan, Larned and Marie Post, Spearfish, South Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Marvin Campbell.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Bethann Black presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the mortuary. Interment will be in the Pawnee Rock Cemetery, Pawnee Rock, Kansas.
