GREAT BEND — Lawrence “Larry“ Joseph Drescher, 93, of Great Bend, passed away Aug. 9, 2012.
He was born Oct. 24, 1918, the son of John and Theresa (Muffinbier) Drescher in Monitor, Ore.
Larry was a pilot in the Army Air Corp during World War II, and a proud veteran. He married Sara Santee on Aug. 19, 1943 in Oklahoma City, Okla.  
Larry is survived by his wife, Sarah, Great Bend, daughters, Ann and husband Roy Messmore, Aurora, Colo; Mary Drescher-Upton, Newton; Sarah “Sally” Drescher, Overland Park; sons, Jim and wife Linda Drescher, Justin, Texas; John and wife Ruth Ann Drescher, Bryan, Texas; Joe and wife Glennda Drescher, Great Bend; Charles Drescher, Great Bend; Phil and wife Carla Drescher, Olathe; Kevin and wife Kelly Drescher, Shawnee; 10 brothers and sisters, 21 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. with a Vigil Service following at 7 p.m. at Prince of Peace at St. Rose Church in Great Bend.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Prince of Peace at St. Rose Church with Father Reginald A. Urban officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Belt Memorial Park in Great Bend.  
Memorials may be designated for Prince of Peace Catholic Church or Golden Belt Memorial Park Veterans’ Memorial in care of Christians Funeral Home 103 N. Washington, PO Box 386, Lindsborg, KS, 67456.
