Leona A. Reichuber, 92, died March 13 at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend. Born Aug. 28, 1922 at rural Great Bend, she was the daughter of John and Antonia (Langer) Stoss.
Mrs. Reichuber was a Great Bend, Kansas resident most of her life coming from Hoisington. She married Alfred Reichuber May 15, 1946 at Olmitz. She worked for Dillons and Safeway stores in Great Bend and Hoisington and also worked on the assembly line at Fuller Brush in Great Bend. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Survivors include her husband, Alfred Reichuber, of the home; two sons: Ralph Reichuber and wife Brenda of Great Bend, and Melvin Reichuber and wife Carolyn of St. Paul, Minn.; two sisters: Arlene Yarmer of rural Galatia, and Evelyn Penka of Great Bend; a sister-in-law, Darlene Stoss; four grandchildren: Ashley Reifschneider, Rob Liles, Brad Reichuber and Courtney Reichuber; and five great-grandchildren: Cody Liles, Drew Liles, Cooper Liles, Hayden Liles and Maci Reifschneider. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Kay Reichuber, a brother, Edward Stoss, and a sister, Erma Schloctemeier.
An altar society rosary will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 17 at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend. Vigil service will follow at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 18 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Ted Stoecklein celebrating. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend. Friends may call from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at Bryant Funeral Home.
