HUDSON – Leonard Brim, 96, died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, Ks. Born Aug. 20, 1921 at Emporia he was the son of Blaine and Bertha Whittemore Brim. He was a longtime Hudson resident serving multiple terms as Mayor. In addition, Leonard also served multiple years on the Hudson School District School Board. Leonard worked at the Stafford County Flour Mills for 40 years, serving as President for more than 15 years. He was a WW II veteran serving with the Army. On Sept. 7, 1941 he married Geneva Krug. She died in March, 2005.
He is survived by two daughters, Lenore (Dennis) Chambers and Karen (Dennis) Elliott; five grandchildren, Corey Chambers, Shelley Campbell and Scott Chambers (Lenore) and Shea Elliott and Dedra Reed (Karen); and 12 great grandchildren, Brianna, Ashley and Alana (Corey), Kaylynn (Shelley), Gracie, Ashlyn and Aubree (Scott), Ashleigh and Zoe (Shea) and Taylor, Raiden, and Skylar (Dedra). Leonard had two siblings who proceeded him in death, Byron Brim and Willma McElfresh. He remained close to his nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be at the First Presbyterian Church, Gardner at a later date. A memorial service at Hudson Community Church, Hudson, will take place at a later date. Interment of the ashes will be at the Trinity Cemetery, Hudson. Minnis Chapel, Stafford is in charge of arrangements.
