WILSON — Leonard G. Steinle, 83, died May 28 at Russell. He was born Dec. 13, 1929, in Russell County, the son of Elma Herber and Jacob N. Steinle. He married Joann M. Peterka. A lifetime resident of the area, he was a farmer/stockman.
Mr. Steinle was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church and the Bunker Hill Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; son Neal Steinle and wife Kristel; two daughters, Kathy Moore and husband Leland, and Julie Hannah and husband Leroy; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Ron, in 1992.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 31, at Foster Mortuary Chapel in Wilson with Pastor Jim Wagner officiating. Interment will be in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. until service time Friday at the mortuary. Memorials are suggested to Ellsworth County Cancer Fund or Dorrance Historical Society.
