GODDARD — Born son of Clifford and Pearl White, on Sept. 9, 1949, in Great Bend, Kan. Leonard attended Great Bend schools until he graduated from Great Bend High 1965. From there he attended Hutchinson Community College. He then took a job at Spruills Motor Body Shop. He then purchased a gas station in Albert, Kan., which would later be known as Lennie’s Vicker Service Station. He owned and ran the service station until much later when he then became a USPS mail rural delivery man for the Otis Post Office. After delivering mail for 30+ years, Lennie retired from the Postal Service in 2016. After retiring he and his wife moved from Albert to Goddard, Kan.
Leonard is survived by three sisters, Rebecca White-Carlson, Connie Ashley and Gladys Snow, and one brother, Leroy Denney. He was married to his wife, Sheryl White, in 1974. They have three children, Clifford White, of Albert, Kan., Brandon White of Cimarron, Kan. and Tracy McClure of Goddard, Kan. They are blessed with nine grandchildren and one great grandchild and one additional on the way.
Leonard enjoyed fishing. He also loved attending car shows and restoring classic cars. He purchased his ’56 Chevrolet Bel-Aire in 1981. His favorite TV shows were old westerns starring John Wayne.
